The waves were in the 1 to 2 ft.(0.5meters) range and rose along with the change of tide and winds. 4 girls Nao Omura JPN, Reika Noro JPN, Natsuki Suda JPN and Minato Takahashi JPN moved to the finals. Last week at Chiba Noro claimed victory but this week at HIratsuka Oomura fights back and claims 2nd victory for 2010. Despite all attempts made by Rodrigo Heredia to complete the event or at least advance through some more rounds the absolute flat conditions made it impossible to start round two. Heredia who has been coming to the Azores all his life has never seen such conditions for such a long period of time. Remaining positive and helping both event officials and surfers as much as possible during the entire event Heredia received no criticism for any of his decisions. |
